Privacy policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

tips4tip is a receipt scanner. This policy explains what the app stores and how to reach us. Contact support@tips4tip.app.

Account

You can create an account with email and password, or sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook. We store the account identifier, email address, and name needed to sign you in. Email sign-up can also store your country, birth date, and how you heard about the app. A profile photo is stored only if you add one.

If you sign in with Facebook, we receive the name, email address, and Facebook user ID that Facebook provides for login. We use that information only to create and sign in to your tips4tip account. We do not post to Facebook on your behalf.

Receipts

When you scan or import a receipt, the app stores the photo and the details read from it, such as the merchant, date, line items, tax, tip, and total. Notes you add are stored with that receipt.

You choose where receipts are kept. On-device storage keeps them on your iPhone. Firebase Cloud storage saves receipts and receipt photos to your signed-in account so they can sync. Receipt photos sent for parsing are processed by our receipt service to extract those details.

What we do not do

We do not sell your account or receipt data. Support email includes the address you write from and any details you choose to include. Diagnostic information attached to a support email is the app version and similar technical context, not your receipt photos.

Deleting data

In the app, Account → Clear All Data removes your receipts and receipt photos from the device and from cloud storage. That action keeps your sign-in and profile. To delete the account itself, including information received from Facebook, follow the data deletion instructions.
